Price Cuts Eliminate One Obstacle to ISDN
Bell Atlantic and 3Com targeting one of the biggest stumbling blocks to
widespread adoption of Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN)
technology. Partner on discounts to make ISDN -which can transmit at
128K-more affordable. Bell Atlantic waiving $125 ISDN installation
charge and teaming with 3Com to offer modems at a $40 discount. The
3Com modems come with software for Bell Atlantic's dial-up Internet
service and a one-month trial period for $2. After the first month,
subscriptions start at $19.95. The current offers are limited to the
mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. But the action may spur competitors into
offering similar deals, which would be the first bit of good ISDN news in
some time.

Just realized. Isn't this the same news from about a week or so ago???
