Siebel Systems to join Nasdaq-100 Index WASHINGTON, June 22 (Reuters) - The Nasdaq Stock Market said Tuesday that software provider Siebel Systems Inc. will become a component of the Nasdaq-100 Index, effective at the beginning of trading on Friday, June 25. San Mateo, Calif.-based Siebel will replace Ascend Communications Inc. (Nasdaq:ASND - news), which is scheduled to be acquired by Lucent Technologies Inc.
