I know that history does not necessarily repeat itself at all, BUT:

If you bought 100 shares of Intel when they went public in 1970 or 1971 and held on to it, you'd have over a million bucks today.

If you bought any number of shares of Cyrix in 1992-1993 and held on, you'd have less money today.

As Yogi said, "You could look it up."
