Hi Jim,

I could see doing it the way you suggest, or a mix of our two ideas. If you paid a monthly fee to a provider, do you see them paying the original music producer something each time someone downloads their music, or a monthly, annual, or lifetime fee for having the music on the site.

As I see it, all this is automated anyway, tracking who should be paid each time a request comes in should not be that difficult and the producer could be paid based on the popularity of the music. By the same token, some monthly minimum should probably be paid for having the music available on-line, even if it's not used.

In either event, I think it will be a major advantage not to make the consumer responsible for storing the majority of what they want to hear, and the organizations that provide that will be well rewarded.

Gary
