New Refrigerant Will Allow Montreal Protocol to Expedite CFC Ban Search for 'Cooler' Refrigerant Alternatives Advantageous for Solpower Corporation's SP34E
June 22, 1999, Scottsdale, Arizona - Solpower Corporation (NASD OTC BB: SLPW), a worldwide leader in environmental technology, announces projected benefits resulting from Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) global banning initiatives. Europe, Canada and Japan have recently introduced more effective usage bans on CFCs that has significantly increased the market opportunities for Solpower Corporation's SP34E, a direct drop-in replacement gas for R12 and R134A refrigerants.
"We are extremely excited about the increased market potential for SP34E as a result of these new initiatives for the usage bans on CFCs and have revised our revenue projections accordingly. You could say SP34E is the new generation R134A and that our product has taken over where they left off. It is no wonder SP34E has captured almost 15% of the Australian refrigeration market in less than a year." says James H. Hirst, President and CEO of Solpower Corporation.
For some years the refrigeration industry and government bodies have been addressing the environmental and other associated problems concerning the banning of R12/CFCs and other ozone depleting products. Until now, progress has been impeded because of the absence of suitable replacement products for R12/CFCs. Solpower Corporation is pleased to say that its refrigerant gas SP34E is the solution to the Montreal Protocol initiatives for implementation of CFC bans which can now be expedited. In addition to being a direct drop-in replacement for R12 and R134A, Solpower's SP34E also:
. will not damage the ozone layer . requires minor system modification . requires no special system handling equipment . is compatible with mineral oils and PAG/POE oils . outperforms both R12 and R134A in most cases; and . is more efficient than R134A with more capacity and lower head pressures.
James Flowers, President of Protocol Resource Management Inc. of Ontario, Canada, says, "As a founding member of the Air-Conditioning Refrigeration Institute's "Reclaimers Division", based in Washington, DC, I have researched every EPA/SNAP listed alternative to R12 in the automotive aftermarket. I can honestly say no product available has the potential of the SP34E as a drop-in replacement for R12" Protocol is Solpower's Canadian SP34E manufacturing and distribution joint venture partner and is the largest R134A repackaging operation in Canada.
Solpower Corporation manufactures, markets, distributes and sells environmentally friendly products and technologies including Soltron, the enzyme that enhances fuel and SP34E, a drop-in alternative refrigerant gas to R12 and R134a.
Protocol Resource Management Inc. is dedicated to preservation of stratospheric ozone through responsible refrigerant management, utilizing the most environmentally-friendly technologies available. It is a specialist in the cost effective management of both corporate and trade refrigerant services and is Canada's largest refrigerant reclamation company and is a joint venture partner with Solpower Corporation for the manufacture and distribution of SP34E in Canada and other territories.
