The word "soon" does not appear in the article. Enough appears once but in relation to not enough people understand the disease.

Prior to Neuprex the same thing was basically said. Look suppose my kids got meningococcemia and died. I would feel guilt. Imagine what the U.K. has gone through. Lots of kids died, both before and after they got to the hospital. And yet if you read any of the U.K. news stories during the last two years you would have thought this disease was not a problem, or at least not to the extent it was in the past. But you know after I feel guilty, I look for someone to blame. That is what is going on now. Why didn't you tell me the symptoms were different? Why didn't you tell me not all hospitals are the same?
IMO the mention of the 5% has nothing to do with Neuprex. People are outraged, as they should be. The U.K. is admitting that the mortality from this disease is high. Take your pick it is 10%, 20%, 30%, or 40% but if you get to the right place and are treated from very early on then perhaps, the old, widely claimed 5%. |
