Richard, tid bit on Western Canada.

The Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin represents
approximately 99% of Canada's oil and gas production.
Bounded on the east by the ancient Canadian Shield and
on the west by the Rocky Mountains,
the WCSB encompasses over 580,000 square miles.

Compared to the United States the WCSB is larger than
Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Wyoming and Louisiana combined.
On average, the drilling density in these states is 10 times
that of the WCSB.
