Dear JBL:

In reading your note, it sure looks like the majority of the public is not enthusiastic or confident about the Kosovo victory.

President Clinton would have been smarter, politically, if he would have taken the safer route and ignored the genocide in Kosovo. President Clinton could have followed the critics, who said that an air attack on Kosovo wouldn't work. President Clinton could have followed the polls. But, instead, President Clinton and the NATO countries followed principle and honor.

Clinton and NATO might have made mistakes, but they can hold their heads up with the honor of their victory for righteousness. This is a great time for the world!

Now onto the difficult challenges in keeping the peace in the Balkans and helping to create an atmosphere of stability and prosperity. It's not going to be easy, but to do nothing would be a crime.
