Teflon, I got a question about stock splits. What is the normal pattern of trading leading up to the split--in this example Cisco. I had heard the stock runs up to the split date and then sells off right afterwards. Is that the normal pattern?

I realize Cisco did not follow this pattern but I am curious on your thoughts about the normal moves.
Maybe someone else may also have the answer i am looking for.
TIA
