On BDE. . .we expected a move of sorts towards auction entertainment, due to the recent addition of domain names dealing with auctions. Seeing how they bought a foreign auction house, it is rather unfamiliar to us in the states. .. .but I would hardly call it insignificant. . . .just difficult to understand. .
But BDE is focused on its long range goals. . . they already have major partners and are selling their software development kit to programming companies. . . they have recent distribution deals for their multi-path movies. . .to be sold to the public. . . they are building their website to market multi-path programming. . . they are developing interactive programming for broadband firms like ATHM and Roadrunner. Who knows what they are doing for Intel? So now they are enriching their content by building a base of entertaining programs. . . .to include auctions, etc.
Trojan Television calls Sky Sports, Inc. . . a "network partner". . .I am not sure what that means exactly. . . but Sky Sports is a subsidiary of News Corp [NWS] which is owned by A.T. and T.
I think today's shrug by investors is good. BDE is spending over 3/4 million shares plus some warrants for Trojan Television. And their share price should rightly drop as an adjustment for this dilution. . . but the fact that it keeps coming back toward unchanged says volumes about investor confidence, in my opinion. I see zero weakness.
I don't expect daytraders or the street to recognize any one element of BDE's strategy as worthy of trading or major investment. We have not yet attracted the fund managers. . . but look out come October/November, IMO. And in my opinion, no one deal is going to substantially move the price. An equity investment by a major corporation is what will get the sort of attention that will move this one past it's 52-week high and into double-digits, in my opinion.
But in the meantime, the accumulation the stock has enjoyed just doesn't quit. . . so as time passes. . .we get those tiny upticks. . .and that is fine with me. . .because I am confident that full-motion internet or Next Generation Internet, as it is called. . . will be a smash success. . . and the present internet will be seen as boring by comparison.
Remember too, that there will be a new breed of "high fliers" this winter. . . .some older ones will be stagnant, while the new ones enjoy the limelight. Where are they now? Which ones? What sort of companies will excite people late in January of 2000? Or early in April?
The more we understand the Next Generation Internet, the better we can predict next year's winners.
