Kansas City's Ginger McCabe Is One of the Fastest Hamburger Makers in the
U.S.A.

COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Ginger McCabe, from Blue Springs,Missouri, is one of the twelve fastest White Castle hamburger (Slyder(TM))-makers in the United States of America.
She clocked one of the fastest times today, preparing (cooking, boxing,and bagging) a griddle-full of 30 White Castle hamburgers.
She was among 12 finalists in today's Fourth Annual Fastest Griddle Contest. The finalists were winners in local competitions held in May in each of the 12 of White Castle's operations areas. Together, they beat out more than 4,000 competing employees from more than 300 White Castle restaurants across the country.
Christopher Sevlie from Minneapolis came in first.
Second place winner was Paula Collins from St. Louis.
Third place winner was Elmerose Yao from New York.
McCabe, along with the other 11 finalists, will have the opportunity to participate in Reno, Nevada's "Hot August Nights," an event held Aug. 4-7.
McCabe has worked at White Castle for seven years, is married and has one child, age 2.
Hamburgers prepared in the contest were donated to a shelter for the homeless in Columbus.
White Castle System, Inc., has been serving hamburgers since 1921, when the first restaurant was opened in Wichita, Kansas. Today, the company operates restaurants in 12 states, and prides itself on serving unique hamburgers, steam-grilled on a bed of onions. As of Dec. 31, 1998, the company has sold 13,434,694,103 hamburgers since 1921.
