That is what makes it a matter of such public concern...He not only does wrong, he defiles the office, and thus does damage to the body politic, for which he should have answered, and which must be overcome by his successor. I think that the public underlying understands that there must be a rehabilitation of the office, and that Gore is too tainted to accomplish it,which is why George W. is so far ahead...
