cheap wireless internet devices - not yet. been on the inside of wireless data services. still a ways away from decent bandwidth and pricing. think about it... ricochet, which is a FIXED service, can barely pull 28.8 and is hoping with the latest $300MM funding, to get to 128K. Mobile wireless data is a much tougher game. Analog voice transmission is a very forgiving application, data transmissions not. Inet protocols not designed with wireless latencies and error rates in mind. And on and on. Let's see how Teledesic does when it rolls out... it has promise on paper. Try out the recent Palm solution and you'll see why wireless internet is not in the mass future anytime soon.
