Case dismissed because of sloppy filing. It will come back, I suspect; but at least the work is being done on my apartment, which looks like a refugee camp!

The friend is the first person I ever dated, more than 30 years ago! (Talk about staying power....) He was planning to move his aunt down to D.C., which is where he lives and works; she died and the police called him yesterday and he called me.

So I shall be intermittently near a PC over the next few days. I may also while helping Tom deal with his aunt's affairs be hooking my cousin up to the net.

As for your sotto voce to E, have you looked up in your new OED the definition of "slut"?
