Here are the results from briefing.com Cognos Inc (COGN) 23 7/8 +27/32: software tools developer reports Q1 net of $.25 a share, two cents below the First Call mean, vs yr-ago EPS of $0.25; see press release .... Zacks had .26, just a penny shy. The P/E ratio is only about 18, so I wouldn't expect a sell off unless they make some very negative statements. I think the whisper was for a wider miss.
