Could Dell's used computer business just be getting rid of the systems returned at lease end? If the system on your hands cost you next to nothing anyway, why not pocket a few bucks? With companies moving toward leasing more and more of their capital equipment, motivated by favourable tax treatment of a lease, computer sellers will feel the pressure to offer leases. Having a method to dispose of those returned machines could become a competitive advantage.

Cheers, PW.
