paul... i'm joined with you in puzzlement! or "do you remember new coke?"

"mikey" is a man who clearly stated that he believes in the possibility of growing the pc business by $90b in five years. why would the ceo of one of the worlds largest corporations(by that time), talk such foolishness of selling a refurbished product, assumed to the consumer market which would dilute sales of new units????? you can't sell used pc's without inventory of cores to be refurbished, you need qualified people to refurbish...why use what everyone claims is a diminishing qualified work force to refurbish pc's???? let them build new....i think this i a marketing mistake of "olympic" proportions. where is the future other then the pc????

envision this....jacques nassar ceo of ford, at the london motor show...gives a weekend interview to the times about the future of the automobile, every one waiting for the earl's court intro of a new luxury s-type jag model, volume production with high margin...as the curtain lifts, jacque standing in front of a refurbished pinto...

maybe "mikey" is giving "trade-in" allowances for corporate up grades, and he has a glut of machines in a warehouse somewhere???.....i hope not....
