U.S. FCC approves AirTouch, Vodafone merger WASHINGTON, June 22 (Reuters) - The Federal Communications Commission on Tuesday approved British mobile phone company Vodafone Group Plc's (quote from Yahoo! UK & Ireland: VOD.L) $62 billion acquisition of U.S. carrier AirTouch Communications Inc.(NYSE:ATI - news), allowing the creation of an international wireless powerhouse. The agency said the deal would have no adverse effects on competition since the two companies did not compete against each other in the United States. Regards, Dave
