I don't like the Alta Vista news at all. What are the benefits? How soon will they be realized? How does this fit into CMGI's businesses? This rehashes the LCOS debacle and adds salt to the wounds. In a time when Internet stocks are going to be under the microscope for profitability an outlay of $2B for a search engine that is currently out of favor with the populace, regardless of technical merits, just doesn't compute. I know what's been said about calculating CMGI earnings, but this is still a pill to swallow. CMGI is supposed to be a leader in the market, defining deals, nurturing startups and setting values, not succumbing to the temptation to pay top dollar for established brands. We're going in reverse of our business model IMHO. I'm not seeing the positives. Anyone care to tackle these questions or add some speculation? Regards, Stuart
