With all due respect Auric, I would rather have Fred Weingard, who is an expert in the field with a long history of designing and operating such systems (and advising others in their decisions), making IT decisions for me than you or any of the other so-called "IT experts" on the SI message boards. I continue to believe that, without a working knowledge of the system architecture of VTS and UTS, the security systems they incorporate and all of the other interconnectivity issues involved, neither you nor any of the other "experts" is competent to make a judgment about whether it is a good system, a bad system, an R & D mistake, or anything of the sort. Just more hot air.

It is reminiscent of the arguments audiophiles get into about whether particular audio components are high quality or not. From where I sit, you don't need $15,000 speakers to make music sound great, yet audiophiles will tell you that if it isn't the XYZ speaker system, its absolute garbage. What a load. Anybody who proclaims without more specific information relative to VTS/UTS that "if it isn't UNIX it must automatically be crap/suspect/a mistake for this type of system" ought to pitch that view to the dozens of companies (including Optimark, whose system you were lauding here several hundred posts ago) which also use an NT platform. I agree that until VTS proves itself as a revenue generator, the future financial health of ATG is a matter of conjecture, but IMHO, intelligent conjecture can shed a lot of light and guide intelligent investment decisions in a development stage company. The gist of your earlier posts was that this was a pure pump and dump. Now I gather you are merely taking issue with the quality of their technological decisions and the possibility that they may not generate sufficient revenue to make it, which is a long way from "pump and dump", "POS", "criminal history" "John Gotti's firm" and other expressions you have previously used to denigrate and cast aspersions at ATG. And an improvement at that.

The good news is, the debate will resolve itself soon enough all by itself. Without commentary from either of us.
