The new CEO Dr. Schmidt needs to have a heart to heart meeting with those directors and officers (who are still with Novell) who sold their Novell shares over the past several years. He needs to encourage them to purchase those number of shares that they previously sold. Those persons who hesitate need to be issued one-way bus tickets to the destination of their choice. I would hope that a significant portion of the new CEO's pay plan be geared towards stock options based upon NOVL's share price being north of $20 per share with a reasonable time frame. Novell has gotten the Press's and the Stock Market's attention. Now, Novell needs to pile on confidence builders of their future plans, which should include stepped up marketing efforts.
