I believe you are correct. The mutual fund status is the driving factor behind this deal. CMGI is not over paying if they can get Alta Vista for $2b. Infoseek has a market cap of $3b and Inktomi has a market cap of $5.53b Why is SI board so gloomy over this deal. I went to Yahoo and most of the responses are positive.
