While I enjoy speculating as much as the next guy, I find it fascinating that so many of us who have spent so much time marvelling at DW's foresight and prowess now question this inchoate deal. If indeed cmgi should purchase altavista, then why would you doubt that he has a damn good reason to do so? Regardless of what good reason we agree upon here, I firmly believe that DW hasn't turned into a hapless fool bent on purchasing a second tier seach engine for too much money. If this happens, I have no doubt it will be part of a well-conceived and profitable plan. And I will be happy to seize the opportunity presented until such time as the world comes to realize why this deal has happened. SHG
