BGR -- (1) the Fed is not the US government. There is a big difference. (2) Rubin said yesterday to Japan 'stop screwing with the yen/dollar to keep your exports moving; and (3) Higher interest rates in the US would help take pressure off the yen -- so if, Greenspan wants to give the BOJ a hand to help WEAKEN the yen, he will do it by goosing US interest rates back up half a point or more.
