I'm starting to agree (that we may not be just before dawn, that is...). I'm getting pretty sick of my Ampex holdings these days.

It's not so much that I'm losing money. Of course, that's annoying. But the silence out of Ampex HQ is deafening. I've been holding Ampex since last spring. My assumption/hope as the year progressed was that Ampex would be making some significant announcements in the first quarter of this year. But here we are, well into March, and besides the Maxtor thing, which was really more a letter of intent than an agreement (if we use KM, we'll use yours!), we haven't gotten a peep out of Ampex.

What does this mean? I think that the stock has been drifting steadily down for so long because every day, AXC investors wake up and say... "oh, it's February and we've still gotten no definitive KM news from Ampex. Well, looks like that's not going to happen!" And they sell. Which is what I'm starting to think. Why all the delay? Is keepered media going to happen? Is it reliable enough for hard drive makers to go to mass production with?

That the company's DST business appears to be doing well is good and fine. But that's not the driver that'll send the stock into the stratosphere. Nor is it evident to me that the DST business has the kind of visibility in earnings growth that would support significant appreciation in Ampex's share price.

Well, just wanted to blow off some steam. Don't know how much longer my patience will hold out. I'd rather know one way or another about KM though!
