Interesting story on IT work force and it's benefits to the economy as reported by ABCNews.com and as a cover story on World News Tonight today. Headline reads, "Feds Study: Internet Technology Critical in
Economic Growth."
Read it at:
abcnews.go.com

I especially liked the following:
"For workers in high technology, the digital economy is driving up their salaries. High-tech workers now earn an average of nearly $53,000 a year, compared to roughly $30,000 for general workers. And the pay gap is growing. From faster fast food restaurants to more
efficient auto assembly lines, information technology is driving down inflation and the cost of doing business...
"And in the future? Nearly half of all American
employees in the next five years, are going to be
working for a company that makes information technology or one that uses it in a very pervasive way, says [Michael] Putnam."

Moral of the story: I'm holding.
