iManage Outsells PC DOCS By Nearly 4-to-1 Over the Last Year
iManage LegalOffice Document Management System Continues Explosive Growth
In the Legal Market

SAN MATEO, Calif., June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- iManage LegalOffice Document Management System (DMS) outsold competitive offerings from PC DOCS at a ratio of nearly 4 seats-to-1 in the legal market over the last year. This is according to information published between the Summer of 1998 and the Spring of 1999 in AmLaw Tech, a leading technology magazine for the legal industry. iManage LegalOffice is the preferred DMS among law firms and in-house legal departments that purchased DMS technology according to the last four of AmLaw Tech's "TechBuys - Who's Buying What."
"The TechBuys listing shows that we are delivering the solution of choice for the legal market," said Owen Carton, vice president of marketing, iManage Inc. "To win almost four times as many seats as the next closest vendor shows that we've put together the right combination of features and benefits that law firms are demanding from their document management systems."
The published information also indicates that iManage has won new customers at a rate of more than 2-to-1 over PC DOCS in the same time period.
"iManage has consistently maintained a leadership position with regards to scalability and reliability within a web-based thin-client environment," said Nathaniel Palmer, senior consultant, The Delphi Group. "It is therefore not surprising to see their exceptionally strong showing within the legal community who, despite being early adopters and scrutinizing evaluators of Document Management technology, also significantly favor thin-client applications."
These strengths, along with iManage's focus on customer service and satisfaction, are reasons why iManage LegalOffice is outselling PC DOCS and other document management vendors in this market.
Since TechBuys only highlights larger customer wins, it did not reflect iManage's overwhelming success with its iManage Primera DMS. iManage Primera, introduced in April, is a fully-featured DMS for legal practices with one to 100 users and is quickly developing a "who's who" of smaller law firms as customers.
American Lawyer Media publishes AmLaw Tech, Corporate Counsel, Law Technology News as well as newsletters and other legal publications. The TechBuys articles are published quarterly and reflect technology decisions being made by leading firms in the United States. The data in the articles is gathered from vendors who choose to submit information to American Lawyer Media as well as from industry analysts who have spoken with customers regarding their purchase decisions. Customers are not interviewed for TechBuys.
