The Samsung player use C-Cube. The Toshiba players are still Toshiba's chip and about 7 others(Zoran AC-3). Toshiba's newer players use both Zoran DVD decoders, and their own. The newest are all Zoran. Emerson Radio? Somebody else makes it for them. They just put the Emerson name on the case.
