if you're an active trader, at ETrade you'll get ThePulse (a wonderful terminal with streaming Level II quotes, streaming charts, streaming news and portfolios, technical charts, etc) for FREE, and commissions are lower than Schwab's. no other online broker offers that. ETrade is the best online broker without a doubt. the site is not as screaming fast as Amazon's site for example, where pages load in 2 seconds if you use a cable modem, but i'm confident that speed will improve with the new version of the E*Trade site they are about to unveil.
