Gerald, Ayn Rand was a hack who was obviously deeply disturbed by her experiences as a young girl in Russia.

Well, now we know your opinion. Do I agree totally with Objectivism? No, but there are some truths in it. I fall more into the impure copy, libertarianism, even though there are things there that I don't agree with either.

From your comments indicating that she has some intellectual significance I suspect you also within the last several years began smoking cigars and drinking single malt scotches. Likely, your considering buying a Harley if you ever achieve the money. Most assuredly you've never been anywhere and you certainly have never had any connection with the heavy industry from which Ms. Rand derives all her heroic archetypes in Atlas Shrugged.

I do like single malt scotch.

I grew up in a small Indiana town, I spent two years in a mid-sized Oklahoma city, and now live in Phoenix. I've visited northern Mexico by car where I've seen people living in boxcars and Italy where I visited the standard tourist stuff. Is that "anywhere" or do only the places you've graced count?

When Atlas Shrugged was written the heavy industries, especially rail, were the high growth companies of today. If the book were written today its heroes would be from the high tech industries.
