RESEARCH ALERT - ValueVision gets a buy

CHICAGO, June 22 (Reuters) - Craig-Hallum Capital Group Inc. said Tuesday it
initiated coverage of ValueVision International Inc., the third largest home
shopping network, with a buy rating.

ValueVision offers its programming at about 15.4 million full-time equivalent
(FTE) homes in the United States. It also operates a couple of small catalog
companies that are in the process of being sold.

ValueVision also holds a 15 percent stake in NetRadio, an online broadcasting
company.

Craig-Hallum said ValueVision's new chief executive was brought in to turn the
company around and forge a new business strategy. Since that time, Gene
McCaffery has increased distribution, significantly raised average revenue per
household, sold off non-core assets and made the company profitable.

Shares of ValueVision closed up 7/16 to 19-3/4
