Big Banks Link to Deliver Bills
To Consumers Via the Internet
By REBECCA BUCKMAN
Staff Reporter of THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

"Three big banks are joining forces to deliver electronic bills to consumers and businesses, reflecting the growing power of the Internet in financial services."

Quote on Checkfree and timing of "the Exchange":
"The Exchange says it could be delivering bills by the end of the third quarter [anyone believe this?] and expects to sign up other banks as members. For now, the banks will continue to use traditional bill-payment companies such as Checkfree Holdings Corp. to process payments. However, the banks later could develop new payment systems for some bills, said Sharon Osberg, a Wells Fargo executive vice president."
