Why are you all talking about a cash buyout? CMGI hasn't got 2 to 3 billion in cash at all... so there's also rumours about a stock swap: CMGI (Nasdaq:CMGI - news) is in talks to buy AltaVista and other Internet assets from Compaq (NYSE:CPQ - news) for $2 billion to $3 billion in stock. don't know what to think about this deal yet...think it all depends on the price. more than 2 billion seems to much to me but on the other hand how much would an ipo have brought into cpq's hands? regards sunny
