Of passing interest (which I forgot, and had no time, to bring to the thread's attention yesterday), did any one catch the story on the front page of the NYT yesterday to the effect that poorer patients who have no private, Medicaid (or Medicare) or out-of-pocket coverage for needed drugs are enlisting routinely in phase trials on "experimental" drugs, in order to address their particular health care needs. The woman pictured on the front page, from Taunton, MA, was enrolled in a trial for a new asthma medication. She indicated that she had not felt so well in a long time as when she was in the trial, or words to that effect.

PS: Peter, you were, of course, correct in the ABTAZA combination. Sorry for the typo.
