Device about to hit market that resembles a wristwatch. A study of 39 diabetics at the University of Colorado found GlucoWatch provided glucose readings nearly identical to those obtained using traditional monitors. The findings were to be presented today at an American Diabetes Association meeting in San Diego.

GlucoWatch, which is awaiting federal approval, automatically checks blood glucose every 20 minutes and sounds an alert if the reading is too high or too low. The device could be on the market in the next year.

The device is made by Cygnus of Redwood City, Calif., sends tiny electric currents into the skin, opening the pores and extracting a minute amount of glucose fluid. A sensor underneath the watch absorbs the fluid, then sends a reading, which appears digitally on the watch.

The device, powered by a AAA battery, is expected to sell for about $300..

I don't think you can strap the diasensor1000 to your wrist. I got out of BICO a while ago at a lost, but still follow the stock. I post this for anyone out there that is even thinking about gambling on this stock.

Good luck!

Scott
