Alec,

Mostly, 7% long bond yield is a psychological threshold. The perception is that the risk in the market vs. the return from bonds will move capital to bonds. The other part is that high interest rates will slow economic activity and affect earnings.

The correction in July was triggered by a 7% yield. Every time we approach or touch 7%, this market tanks, and recovers as the bond yield receeds. If we push through convincingly and close above, I believe we will see a very strong reaction.

Any comments on the SOX breaking the 50 day MA today?

John
