Hmm.

Ok, if you boot without the start-up disk, can you use EDIT to change the contents of the config.sys?

If so, try this:

Edit the config.sys file and change the Himem.sys load line to read:

DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS

I had originally thought that your actual Windows directory was toasted. Turns out it might be as simple as replacing the himem.sys file.

The A20 control line error you got with the boot disk does concern me, but I'll get to that one later. (if needed)
