Upside in FY00 could come from discussions with key target accounts; Ericsson, Motorola, Kyocera & even Nokia potentially leading to new orders.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, this was by far the most significant part of the report. Many of the estimates I have seen have stated that the Q could fall to as little as 60% of the ASIC market by next year (due to competition by Mot and Nok). If they can keep their marketshare there will be another long round of up-grades.

I've been thinking about what Gregg Powers said a while back, that segmentation of the market may work in the Q's favor, and I think I have come around to his way of thinking (big surprise). I dont think even the big handset suppliers will have the resources to develop both a W-CDMA and CDMA2000 chipset. I really think that the Q may own at least the CDMA2000 part of that market for a LONG time. Of course it works in reverse too....the Q will have to work hard to develop the W-CDMA chipset and have it accepted by the market.
