InterVoice Awarded Advanced Messaging Solution; Siemens Engineers $5.5M Deal With Pakistan Telecommunications Co. Ltd.
DALLAS, June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- InterVoice, Inc. (Nasdaq: INTV), today announced that Siemens, one of the largest international resellers of InterVoice products, ordered InterVoice's latest voice messaging feature set to fulfill a $5.5M contract from Pakistan Telecommunications Company Limited (PTCL). The majority of the order was shipped during InterVoice's first quarter of fiscal 2000, that ended on May 31, 1999. InterVoice's IN*Control(TM) Messaging 2.0 will allow PTCL to offer a full range of voice mail and fax messaging services on a nationwide basis for more than 3 million business and residential subscribers. IN*Control Messaging 2.0 is a network-oriented messaging solution that supports multi-node deployments and inter-system messaging. It will also be available for InterVoice's enterprise customers. "From the moment the telecommunications market was privatized in 1996 with the creation of PTCL, the company has been committed to providing the highest level of services to its growing customer base," said Parvez Iftikhar, Siemen's General Manager Telecom Engineering Division. "PTCL's decision to implement InterVoice's voice and fax messaging solution are evidence of PTCL's commitment to quality." The PTCL contract includes delivery of ten IN*Control(TM) Network IVR (interactive voice response) platforms, complete with Signaling System 7 (SS7) and inter-system messaging capabilities. IN*Control Messaging 2.0 includes a sophisticated voice mail monitoring function that allows systems managers to monitor multi-node Network IVR systems. In addition to telecommunications carriers, Messaging 2.0 is an attractive solution for businesses that are searching for a more flexible voice messaging system. "In looking for a solution to meet the demand for advanced messaging services in Pakistan, PTCL found InterVoice's technology to be the most efficient and cost-effective," said an unnamed PTCL Official. "This is a quality investment that will benefit both PTCL and its customers for years to come." "We are pleased to have been selected by the PTCL for this Voice Messaging Project. The IN*Control platform will give PTCL the capability to further increase revenues in the future by offering additional value-added services, such as calling card and one number services, " said George T. Platt, InterVoice's Managing Director for Asia Pacific. "We are also pleased that InterVoice and Siemens continue to expand our working relationship in Asia for the sale of advanced Telecommunications solutions to the region's carriers." IN*Control Messaging 2.0 is available as an integrated feature set on InterVoice's IN*Control(TM) Network IVR platform or as an upgrade for carriers already using the platform.
