<<Then you'd think they could come up with something more descriptive for it than "program guide". They make it sound like its focus is entirely upon TV.>>

Only to you and those like you that don't have a clue as to its importance. By the way, its IPG, Interactive Program Guide, and it is what it says...Interactive.

<<Well, it WAS a cheap investment, when SRCM was in the low-to-mid 20's.
Now that the par value of those warrants has gone from over $8 at the time of the big CC, to about 62 cents last time I checked quotes. Suddenly the deal loses a lot of its lustre, does it not?>>

This has always been one of your most amusing/ridiculous arguments. Talk about not seeing the forrest for the trees. The warrents become valuable if/when srcm and the jv prosper. SRCM stock has been under pressure BECAUSE of the uncertainty of the deal closing. To conclude that the current stock price flucuations have any bearing on whether this deal happens or not is ludicrous.

<<Nononononono, it's not that easy. The 900 pound gorilla doesn't go away just because you arm yourself with a pocket knife.>>

Someday you will come to understand that this 900 lb gorilla needs to get "invited" to play in this game and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it to happen. By this game I mean cable.

<<TV Guide has the distribution agreements, they don't need msft.

But they DO need SRCM? Ha!>>

Actually, yes. See Gemstar.

<<That's not to mention srcm's patents.

Good, because they're not worth mentioning.>>

Tell that to GTE and Mike Shell. Two litigations brought on by SRCM and two settlements resulting in srcm collecting royalties. Worldgate is on deck.
