From CBS MarketWatch Rumor mill spreads beyond Shares of Beyond.com (BYND: news, msgs) shot up 5 1/8, or 20 percent, to 30 11/16 on speculation Amazon.com (AMZN: news, msgs) was an interested suitor. Officials from Beyond were not available for comment. Amazon had no comment. Beyond.com sells commercial, off-the-shelf software to the government, enterprise, corporate and consumer markets. Interesting! One "no comment". That's as good as saying "We are in negotiations". Most companies will deny a buyout rumor if it is false. DocStone
