If Biggs was correct how come Morgan Stanley's own high tech analyst said "the wheels are not falling off of the car" when asked about the networking industry. In another article about networkers..."the need to increase bandwidth remains strong in the US and abroad. Underpinning growth in the industry as well are the continued rise in corporate information technology budgets and the tying of more computers to networks and more subscribers to the internet." Therese M. Murphy of Smith Barney..."I do not think there is a fundamental change in demand." She also said that industry annual growth of 30%-50% is still reasonable. This was a recent projection of Cisco. Nicholas J. Lippis III of Strategic Networks Consulting of Rockland, Mass..."Information technology budgets have risen 5%-10% on average in the US this year, and network traffic on corporate intranets has muiltiplied by as much as 100 times. The need for desktop computers, that need to be connected to networks, is growing by 30%-50% annually."
