Cirruslvr, CC may say that XX-K Athlon's will be shipped this quarter (and paid for). However, AMD will not recognize revenue accounting-wise until official launch in August. This is similar to AMD policy of not recognizing revenue from shipments to distributors until the chips sell through.

All I can say is, the penalties for an OEM to return the chips had better be pretty Draconian and insured by Lloyd's of London.

A positive thing about having no Athlon machines available until August XX, is that there can be an effective advertising blitz to correspond to the day of the release. Might even make the 7PM national news.
