GLE, just so you know, I am a proponent of PEM Fuel cells, and have a website selling them at pemfuelcells.com and copower.com
I am also a consultant to DCHT, which manufactures the PEMS, so you may want to factor in my bias; but I don't believe for one minute that the FC market will be dominated by any one company or technology, as it is simply to large, and too broad to predict which technology is superior to another because the applications make different performance demands.
I do believe however that there won't be FC's in cars for some time, and that the applications are for portable and remore power.
I have just returned from a trip to israel and Amsterdam, and I can tell you that there is an immediate need for hybrids of any type, or the people of Tel Aviv won't be able to breathe soon.
In Amsterdam, bicycles outnumber cars 3 to 1, and there wasn't a car larger than a Mercedes 300. with the vast majority of cars being small renault and volkwagen types.
I only saw one Yukon, no other SUV's at all, and occaisionally a larger BMW, but it was obvious to me while overseas that Amercian's haven't a clue as to the realities of the real cost of oil yet; but they will.
GLE is very interesting and I plan to follow it.
But the race grows more interesting with each new player.
Sincerely, Steve O |
