Like your list of possible reasons for the jump in price/share, Susan. At the risk of repeating myself, let me add one more: Portal for a Broadband Network. In my opinion, this quote form Russell Horowitz is immensely important:

"We're also developing a broadband content division and other initiatives to effectively position Go2Net as the primary content delivery platform for Paul Allen's rapidly growing network of Cable subscribers.''

What this means to me is that GNET is entering a new arena of 'net services: Home entertainment. Broad band is not necessary for any of GNET's current services except perhaps an expansion of the games component; however, Broad Band cable will prove to be the medium of choice for delivery of Web TV and Movies on Demand. The revenue streams from these enterprises could conceivably exceed all current GNET revenue streams combined. As the primary content provider to Allen's Broad Band Network GNET is truly positioned to grow exponentially. JMO of course, but the evaluation of the facts leads strongly to this conclusion.
