Derek,
My humble apologies for not answering your post sooner. Actually I read for the first time just now. I blew it!
I worked at the Los Angeles Div.of NAA, the Aircraft Div., designing flight control systems for the X-15, B-70, F-108, etc. Autonetics was the Avionics Div. where they developed and built state-of-art guidance and navigation systems, missiles, Apollo, etc.
70s Hybrid Micro Circuits were the new techno rage then. Boy have we come far. Actually I go back even further, to the 50s -- to analog computers and vacuum tubes. Yes I actually did dynamic flight simulations of the X-15 on 1000+ amp analog computers that also used tons of diode function generators. Those were the days!
Derek I enjoy your posts. They're very insightful.
Again, excuse this late reply,
