Tero, I think he can call Airtouch and ask them if they are qualifying the 6185 for their use. The Airtouch answer will disappoint you.

AT&T, Mitsubishi Wireless Unite to Deliver Quad-Mode Wireless Internet Phone news.wirelessdesignonline.com
Mitsubishi Wireless Communications Inc. (MWCI; Duluth, GA) and AT&T (New York) are joining to create the MobileAccess T250, a wireless phone capable of offering quad-mode connectivity to CDPD networks for data transmissions in addition to 800 Mhz and 1900Mhz TDMA systems and analog networks for voice services. The new MobileAccess phone will be available to consumers in the fourth quarter of fiscal 1999.
The T250 is a second-generation wireless Internet phone that incorporates all of the integrated voice and data features offered in the company's first-generation products and adds enhancements that meet customer and market needs. New features include a larger display area for easier reading and creation of e-mail messages, multiple size fonts for enhanced viewing, and graphical displays for data applications. Using an enhanced version of Redwood City, CA-based Phone.com's (formerly Unwired Planet) browser, the phone gives users online, real-time, interactive access to Internet/intranet-based information and applications over CDPD networks.
The MobileAccess' Wireless IP network connectivity enables the phone to be used as both an Internet appliance for quick access to information and as a modem to provide CDPD access for other mobile computing devices. It also features digital voice support services including SMS and voicemail notification. Other enhanced features include easy navigational buttons for data access and input and intelligent text entry using Tegic T9 software. |
