My Mac already had built-in Ethernet, which TCI@Home used. Hooking up the cable modem is trivial, plug in the cables and plug it into the power outlet. Vast majority of time was spent by SW guy doing SW install/config, and cable guy ensuring good signal and installing filters. Having built-in ethernet and a built-in cable modem will do little to reduce this time.
