Putting our heads in the sand won't prevent our butts from being kicked. Today's long bond action is very scary. I believe we will see a new high in yields very soon, which signals that the market is in the process of pricing in a 50 basis point rate increase this month. I tried to unload some of my positions during the spike in the last 15 minutes of trading today. Got the price, but there were too many people ahead of me in the line. Sigh!
