MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 8, 1999--Royal Pictures Inc. (OTC BB:RPIX) announces the start of principal photography
to begin on July 12, 1999 as promoted in daily variety on May 25, 1999. The film stars Maria Conchita Alonso
(''Blackheart,'' ''My Husband's Secret Life''), Steven Bauer (''Scarface''), Laura Herring, Nick Corri, and Miguel Sandoval (''Clear and Present Danger'').

Corri, Herring in 'Ocho'

Royal Pictures has signed Nick Corri and Laura Herring to topline ''Calle Ocho,'' a $5.5 million romantic drama set for a July 12 start. Miami-based Royal also
signed Latino vets Maria Conchita Alonso, Steven Bauer and Miguel Sandoval in supporting roles, plus salsa maestro Willy Chirino to compose the
soundtrack.

Corri (''Wes Craven's New Nightmare'') plays a young Cuban American singer torn between his passion for music and the political activism of his family. A
former Miss America, Herring (''Lambada,'' ''Sunset Beach'') will play Corri's girlfriend.

To be helmed by Betty Kaplan (''Dona Barbara''), ''Ocho'' will film in separate English and Spanish versions (Daily Variety, April 8).

Herring, Alonso and Chirino were all repped by Miami-based Steve Drimmer of Silver Light Entertainment.
